All You Need to Know About Cheque Book Wedding Invitations

Cheque Book Wedding Invitations are a very popular design.  They open to reveal staggered, tabbed pages inside.  You can have upto 4 pages inside, which allows you to include a lot of information for your wedding guests.

Key Components of the Cheque Book Invites

All of our cheque book wedding invitations feature a personalised front cover, a minimum of 2 pages inside and a back cover.

The pages inside our cheque book invitations can include guest information, including a perforated RSVP postcard, Accommodation details, Menu options, local Taxi details, Gift wording and Dress-Codes etc.  If you need to provide your guests with a lot of information we also offer double-sided printing.

As with all our invitations, we can customise any of our designs to suit your wedding theme and colour scheme.

Cheque Book Wedding Invitation FAQs

Of course, we would love to speak to you about your ideas and vision for your wedding invitations. If you are considering cheque book wedding invites, here are some of the questions we are asked.

What are the main benefits of Cheque Book wedding invites?
The main benefit of choosing a Cheque Book style wedding invitation is that they can provide lots of space for guest information.

Our Cheque Book wedding invitations come with 2 pages as standard.  Your main invitation card will include time and venue details.  The other page is usually a perforated RSVP postcard but we can change this to suit you.

Extra pages can be added for you as required.  We recommend a maximum of 4 pages.  If you are offering menu options for your guests we can add the wording to your wedding invites.

All of the pages are bound in a convenient book-style format, keeping all your guest information cards neatly together.

What is the size of your Cheque Book wedding invites?

Our standard, Cheque Book wedding invitations measure 210 x 99mm (DL size).

If you’d like a different shape or size please let us know as we are flexible and open to your ideas.

When should I order my Cheque Book Wedding Invitations
Wedding Invitations are traditionally sent out 12 weeks prior to your date – but it is not uncommon for invitations to be sent out 6 months prior, or even earlier if your wedding is abroad, or at a busy time of year.

The process for buying wedding invitations with us is simple:

  • Search through our extensive designs and ideas
  • Request a sample through the website sample request form
  • We will then contact you for a design consultation

Or, if you have your own ideas, simply contact us to discuss your options by booking a free 1 hour design consultation.

What is the average turnaround time for orders?
At ‘I Do designs’ we can usually process orders within 3-4 weeks. If you require your order faster, please get in touch and we will check our production schedule.

Some projects may take a little longer if there is a lot of design work involved.

How many pages are inside Cheque Books invites?
Our Cheque Book style wedding invitations are supplied with 2 pages as standard.

The pages are usually staggered and tabbed with the headings on display down the right side.

The first page will be the main invitation and the second page can be either a perforated RSVP postcard or single-sided Guest Information page.

If you need extra space for things like menu options and gift wording then you can add extra pages – upto a maximum of 4 pages.

If you need any more than 4 pages then we wouldn’t be able to have the staggered look inside because the first, invitation page would be just too small.  Technically, we could add as many pages as you like if all the pages were the same size.

What information goes on the pages inside?
Our Cheque Book style wedding invites are supplied with 2 pages as standard and a maximum of 4.

The first page will always be the main invitation page and then the rest of the pages are totally upto you.

All of the wording on the additional pages can be fully personalised.  Popular choices include:

Perforated RSVP Postcard

Accommodation Information

Local Hotels

Menu Options

Gift List Details / Poem

A Note about Children

Directions

Order of Day / Timeline

Dress Code

QR Code

Wedding Website Link

Taxi Companies

Any more than 4 staggered pages would mean the invitation page would be too small.  However, we could add unlimited pages if all of the pages were the same size.

What information goes on an RSVP Card?
If you choose an RSVP postcard as one of the pages inside your Cheque Book invitations, we will perforate it for you.  This makes it really easy for your wedding guests to remove and post it back to you.

Traditionally, RSVP cards should include the following:

  • Space for the Guest Names
  • Accept/Decline Tick Boxes
  • A Reply Deadline Date
  • Special Dietary Requirements
  • A Return Address

More recent additions are:

  • Space for Menu Choices (if you have provided options)
  • A Song Request
  • Alternative Contact Details such as an email address, telephone number or a dedicated wedding website
Can we include requests for monetary gifts?
Traditionally, wedding gifts were to help set up the newly married couples first home.

Recently more couples live together before they marry, so have most of the things they need.

Requests for monetary gifts or a contribution towards a honeymoon are becoming more and more popular.

There are various ways to politely request monetary gifts, including with gift poems.

We have a large database of gift poems to choose from.  Ask us to send you a copy for some ideas and inspiration.

Wedding gift-registry-websites and locked post-boxes are popular as they are a convenient way for your guests to offer a cash gift.

If you choose a long poem we can add a full page inside your Cheque Book invitations named ‘Gifts’.  For shorter poems we can simply add a paragraph to a general ‘Information’ page.
