Save the Date cards are a lovely way of letting your guests know that you’ve set the date!
What is a Save the Date?
Save the Date cards are simplified wedding invitations. They are sent out to your wedding day guests before your official invitations.
They’re often sent out before you have all the final details confirmed but you want your guests to ‘save the date’ in their diaries.
Personalisation Options
Save the Dates can easily be personalised to match your wedding theme. They’re usually simple flat or folded cards and are smaller in size than invitations.
We will match your Save the Dates to your invitations in terms of card, fonts and colours. Embellishments such as ribbon, lace, bows, glitter, diamantes, pearls or buckles are also available.
As with all our stationery, we can customise any of our designs to suit your wedding theme and colour scheme. Or if you prefer, we can create something completely unique.

What are the main benefits of Save the Dates?
The main benefit of sending Save the Dates is that they provide your wedding guests with your confirmed wedding date. Some guests may need to book time off work or make travel arrangements so advance notice is often appreciated.
Your Save the Dates are also a great way to give guests a first impression of your wedding. Your wedding theme and colour scheme can easily be incorporated to create that amazing first glimpse.
What size are Save the Date cards?
We recommend that your Save the Dates are slightly smaller than your Wedding Invitations. However, we make everything to order so we can easily make your Save the Dates any size you like.
When should I order my Save the Dates?
Wedding Invitations are traditionally sent out 12 weeks prior to your date – but it is not uncommon for invitations to be sent out 6 months prior, or even earlier if your wedding is abroad, or at a busy time of year.

What is the average turnaround time for orders?
At ‘I Do designs’ we can usually process orders within 3-4 weeks. If you require your order faster, please get in touch and we will check our production schedule.
Some projects may take a little longer if there is a lot of design work involved.
What information goes on Save the Dates?
Save the Dates are there, simply to let your guests know your confirmed wedding date.
You can keep it simple by just including your names and wedding date with a note that ‘formal invitation to follow’.
Sometimes couples have included the venue information due to accommodation booking limitations and booking codes. This can save you a lot of questions and will allow your guests to get booked in early to avoid disappointment. This information may also be provided via a wedding website that you may wish to pop onto your Save the Dates too.
