Save the Date FAQs
Of course, we would love to speak to you about your ideas and vision for your wedding invitations. If you are considering cheque book wedding invites, here are some of the questions we are asked.
What are the main benefits of Save the Dates?
The main benefit of sending Save the Date Cards is that they provide your guests with plenty of notice of your wedding date.
If you want to ensure as many people as possible can make it to your wedding day, the more notice you provide, the better. However, you may not have all the final details and timings organised to send out an official invitation – this is where Save the Dates come in.
What size are Save the Dates?
There are no limitations to the size of your Save the Dates … as long as they fit inside envelopes.
We usually suggest your Save the Dates are a similar shape (oblong or square) to your invitations but smaller.
A6 is a great size for a small oblong and for square Save the Dates they’re usually between 9cm x 9cm and 12.5 x 12.5cm.
If you’d like a different shape or size please let us know as we are flexible and open to your ideas.
When should I order my Save the Dates?
Most Save the Dates are sent out 12-18 months before to your date – but it is not uncommon for them to be sent out even earlier if your wedding is abroad, or at a busy time of year.
The process for buying Save the Dates with us is simple:
- Search through our design galleries for ideas
- Request a sample through the website sample request form or book a design consultation
What is the average turnaround time for orders?
Some projects may take a little longer if there is a lot of design work involved.
What information goes on a Save the Date?
Most of the details of your wedding day should be saved for your invitations so, with this in mind, we recommend keeping your Save the Dates as simple as possible.
Just your names and wedding date will suffice. However, on occasion, we can also add Accommodation information on too – especially for venues with limited rooms and discount rates.
